I ran into the exact same error this article describes. In my case, I was using a hosts entry to 'emulate' forward DNS. However, as hosts files only emulate forward DNS and not reverse, I ran into issues.

I created a new FQDN on our real DNS server (with forward and rev entries), as well as an alternate access mapping in central administration for the new FQDN. After doing this, my kerberos issues were resolved.

Just an FYI:

We had several random users experiencing authentication issues and it turned out to be the MS Office Live-Addin that was the culprit. We removed this little demon and all our troubles disappeared. I would recommend hiding this update so that your users cannot install it.

Dear All:
I solved this problem! I found 2 new patches of OS: KB960803 and KB963027. These 2 patches let my search index failed and repeated logon my SSP admin site.
So, I read these 2 patches description, follow the description's step and I solve this error.

Hey there,
We are running 2 load balanced servers, with a shared IP address for the farm. There are two sites:
intranet (A record, with reverse DNS)
mysites (CNAME to intranet)

Is this going to be an issue in terms of reverse DNS? Cos I would have thought there was no way to have each as A records with reverse lookups for the same IP address.

Thanks!
Gavin

Just make sure both forward and reverse DNS are properly setup. If forward is good, but reverse is not, Kerberos may still fail.

Great info.
Thanks.
I'm about to change an IP of my Sharepoint server.
Any tips on what to look out for?
